NEW TABLE

I work with my son Mike, who has been with me since graduation
in June of 1998. We are basically a two trimmers and one table operation.
We serve many large Dairies in neighboring Vermont and we routinely process
70-90 cows per day.
We support the Hoof Trimmers Association and their on going
effort to bring professionalism and educational opportunities to Hoof Trimmers
at the National and International level. We particularly enjoy going to the Hoof
Trimmers Association conferences so we can share experiences and ideas with
other hoof care providers.
Just like the Association, we hope this site becomes another
means for encouraging communication between Hoof trimmers, Veterinarians,
Nutritionists and the Dairy Industry.

ST PIERRE HOOF CARE has been in the business of trimming feet
for about twelve years. It started with a homemade table mounted to a three
point hitch. At first we would haul both tractor and table with a low boy
trailer to the work site. That process got old in a hurry and we
redesigned the table to slide into the back of an F350 (Picture
of original truck & table). |

In May of 1999, after eight years of trimming and a need to
modernize our operation, we designed and constructed a new table and
mounted it to an F550. (Picture of new truck & table).
It took six months of designing, machining, welding and
wondering if it would even work as we hoped it would. After a year
of active use & 14,000 cows, we are happy to report that it has met all
of our expectations, made life easier and still no dents!

with a variety of hoof trimming related
pictures that will accumulate over time and become another useful resource for
Hoof Trimmers. |
