- A bracket that holds the glue gun in an upright
parallel position for easy retrieval.

Our GOALS for developing the HOT BOX
- It had to be energy efficient.
- It had to be built with the high quality long
lasting components and still remain affordable.
- It had to be repairable with individually
replaceable components.
- We wanted a multi purpose product that would keep
the glue warm and help us organize and simplify our blocking procedure.
HOW TO USE
YOUR BOVI BOND HOT BOX
After many designs and testing of our box over a 10
month period, we feel we have achieved our goals. Following the directions
below will provide you with the best results based on our experience.
 | Keep the box sheltered from direct sun. Our
experience has taught us that the glue can be too warm and even though you
may work quickly enough to apply the block, the quality is diminished
significantly. |
 | Avoid drafts and cold floors by placing the box on
some bedding if possible. This is only necessary when the air temp
approaches freezing. |
 | Depending on the outside temperature, it will take
up to 30 minutes to get your glue up to the ideal heat range. If that is
a concern, place a container of hot water in the box just before leaving
to go to work. An empty one quart oil container or soda bottle works well
for this purpose. |
 | The proper 80 degree heat range occurs in the upper
half of the box. Keep at least one spare tube of glue near the top of the
box so that when you switch to a full cartridge you will not have to wait
for the glue to warm up. We accomplish this by placing at least 3 to 4
full cartridges in the box at the start of the day and we rotate the empty
ones to the bottom as they become available. You could also use some of
your blocks or wraps to accomplish the same thing. |
 | avoid overfilling your box with material that will
make contact with the heating element when the cover is closed. This
lowers the efficiency of your box , shortens the lifespan of your heating
element, and could damage your materials from over heating. |
 | Do not leave your cover open any longer than
necessary. when the box cover is left open for a long time the element
will get uncomfortably hot, although not hot enough to cause a fire.
|
 | Place your lead cord wire in the notch provided in
the cover when in use to avoid pinching and damaging the cord. Always
remove your cord from the notch and store it inside the box for transport. |
 | check out our website from time to time where we
will post new tips and suggestions about the use of the hotbox as we
become aware of them. |
